THEY REQUIRE THAT YOU CHECK THE BELT EVER 100 HOURS! I HAVE A 2005 SPORTSMAN 800 AND I CHECK IT EVERY 50 HOURS!
I was pondering that same question! I'm just going to change it and use the old one for a spare. Can't really go wrong with doing that.
Does anyone know of a good name in belts for the sportsman!
get a dayco carlisle MAX2 1121 M2 top cog belt

its a little spendy but they are good belts. the top cogs also circulate more air and help keep the clutches cooler

The Dayco belt is a great belt and grips very well, however it is a softer compound and does not last as long. Overall best belt is the Polaris stocker.

My buddy Stan, his 2005 400 sporrtsman just got it's first new belt. At 6300 miles he replaced it with another stock Polaris belt
It was worn 1/16th" for width and it was a bit stretched. Clutches and inside the housing were amazingly clean.
It seems you can't go wrong with Polaris stock belt. And they are fairly cheap.
