We can only kill anterless deer right now, so he decided tonight to carry his bow instead of a rifle. I set up in another stand about 50 yards away and watched as 2 came in right at dark. This one came in and started to walk away so i gave it a bleat and it calmed down. I could not see Cody but I could see the deer as it hit the snow! It was awesome being able to watch it all happen!

Was it a neck shot ? It looks like I can see the entrance but I'm not sure.

he hit hit right square in the spine. he told me before he even climbed down where he aimed and it was a few inches back but dead on. his idea was to drop it, ofcourse it went about 100 yards down the steepest hill we have on its belly
