Cody finally brought his dry spell to an end this season after many many hours on teh stand with his bow. he busted his rear end all summer and bought himself a new 7mm-08 and tonight took a button buck with it.

It's not a monster buck, but a solid freezer deer

he just finished field dressing it, this is the first time he has ever done that part of the job by himself. he already knows how to take off the hide and butcher it 110% so NOW he is a hunter

pretty nice buck. Man WV's got some pretty nice deer it looks like. Massachusetts white tail are pretty good near me. I almost hit one on the wheeler 3 days ago. Looked like a monster buck. about 10 point.

Tell him congrats! It's always nice to get that first one out of the way with a new firearm. I'm hoping to put a few on the ground Saturday and Sunday, I've drawn the big donut hole so far this year (done alright on ducks just haven't put the time in on deer). Let me know if your gonna be on the shore at all this gun season. I was only planning on going Saturdays but you never know when that sick day is going to pop up.

Almost shot one a couple days ago, but couldn't see if it had brow tines and I want to make sure it's at least a 6 pt. Stupid spike spooked it away and he came back later but couldn't get a good look at his horns do to poor lighting


And the weather has been nothing but crap lately so I haven't gotten back out. Maybe Friday
