    POwer????

    IM lookin to do a big bore 440 kit on my honda 400ex ! ANd throw a hot cams stage to in and a edlebrock 440 carb! Does it give great power? and how reliable is it I need to know asap before i make a mistake?

    Well any big bore can be very reliable if you build it right! I'd say you will see excellent power gains. But it all depends on what you're doing. The mods you have right now look like it will go great with the 440 and carb ETC...

    Personally,and remember this is just my opinion, I wouldnt go to a 440 just yet. I would go to a 416, assuming you have the stock bore. I would do that and then when it is time to rebuild, then go to a 440. I have a 416 and it is just as fast as most of the 440s i have raced. It will save you a little money and make it so you can rebuild later on without having to get a new cylinder.

    Oh, and no matter what you decide to do. If you leave it stock or even get a 500 kit, getting the head ported will help out a lot. It makes a world of difference on a 400.
