Mine scoots good with mods below...Last time out it was faster than 2 STOCK, yes STOCK 250R's and it was dead even with a piped/jetted banshee. It must be making good power because it's HEAVY

Didn't try it against 450's, sorry...I would guess it would be close.

I got a awesome 440ex, it runs strong. My mods are in my sig, and with a 13:1 big bore piston, stag 2 hotcams, awesome exhaust and all that, mine runs like crazy. I have beat all the 400's that ive raised at the dirt strip, summer 07. I did race a modified 450r and i got beat by a bit, but hey thats normal.... I road my friends modded 400ex and then i road my modded 440ex and the power gain from the 440 is great... 416 is more reliable but 440 is faster less reliable unless you have everything perfict in the motor.

A good buddy of mine has a 440.It is an 11:1 wiseco. The head was ported by the local honda dealer, stage 2 hotcam,Pro circuit slip and a rev box. It's also has a +4 swinger.16 tooth front sprocket.

    He can beat 450r's with pipes.And banshee's and yfz's.

But he can't keep 3rd gear in it!

all i have is the piston, 11:1 cp, studs, hotcams stage 3 cam, and its jetted correctly for that with a stock exhaust.

i honestly dont know, i bought it like this (minus the studs). ive never ridden a stock 400ex either haha. its snappy, tons of bottom end and never looses power either, has topend aswell as bottom

the pipe should really wake this baby up, along with a carb im buying
