    Predator Rear Axle

Has anyone removed the tubes over the stock rear axle and used axle locknuts instead?

I don't think you can do that because that is what holds the sprocket and brakes to the axle housing. You can replace it with an apex axle or even cheaper, polish the tubes and get some hubs from Rocky Mountain for a 400 ex. Billet aluminum and adds almost 6 inches to the width.

I don't think you can just thread the stock axle if that is what the question is asking. As cheater said you can polish the tubes or change axle. By the way the 400ex hubs only add about 2-3" overall, we have run them. They do make some difference.

He is talking about some extended 400ex hubs...I got some...they are indeed wide.
