I have found the perfect tool for grooving turf tamers. Go the the hardware store and get a tile cutter, used for trimming ceramic tiles. They work like a champ. The set I have cuts each lug of tread in one clean cut. They are a little enduring on the forearms, but they work a lot better than using a razor.
