the problem with 80cc engines in quad frame is the fact that they have no low end or much torque.the clutches and other parts in the bottom end were not designed to handle all the weight.not saying it cannot be done.but without alot of engine mods i would not expect it to be very trail friendly.

StrokedTater240 is correct on the bottom end issue and the CR's bottom end is somewhat weak ,but you can fix that up abit. you will want to beef it up ....
    But trail freindly -sure!
My Daughter races hers in the WORCS Series and does just fine in the XC sections.
My Daughters motor started out as an 80 and is now about a 91cc,we had alotdone to make the motor handle all the extra weight (our back up motor is an 06 and will be a 101 this winter ) We have raced with other Blaster hybrids and they get up and GO!

You will want to "pep" it up abit but yes, it can be done and can be very competitive.
My Daughter loves hers. Just do your homework, its abit of work to custom build .

another thing you guys may want to consider is rider weight.also tha mount of work and money you are getting into.vs. modding the stock engine.

    Yes^^.
How old is the rider BTW??
When we considered ours, we couldnt pass up the deal(even with all the work we had to sink into itto re-build it,it was used )it was still cheaper than to buy a new full blown quad from a race company.the motor wasnt no more to build than it would have been to buy one new and then rebuild it to support the weight of the quad chassis-it a few thousand less actually.
The mini is actually lighter than we thought it would be also.
Theres lots of these little screamers out there and they do well when put together well.
MY Daughter only weighs 110 lbs. This quad keeps her in a class she can race in until shes old enough to move up to the womens class.

QJ is correct, there are many hybrid quads. The latest ones are using the new 150 Honda 4 stroke dirtbike motor.

Were thinking on that motor for next season if I can find a deal on the motor and an extra frame.
Were still working on getting even more bottom end out of our CR,but right now its pulling close to 27 ponies the way its built now.

That's a good amount of power, even compared with a modded Blaster motor.
The pics look good, looks just the right size for your daughter. My boy is still not as aggresive on the Blaster as he was on the mini, but he did finally get a trophy at the last race which isn't all that bad. He's racing against some faster more experienced kids. There are two hybrids in his class most of the time. One is a Hetricks 150, the other is a freind of ours son with a 400ex/150 that he built himself. It's a really nice machine that they're still working on getting tweaked out just right.
