Story, Photos and Results from July 22 AGP race.

July 22nd 2007 Atlantic Grand Prix Round #5
at North American Warhorse in Dunmore, PA

Was that a great weekend of racing or what and only one word covers it all....unbelievable!

You couldn't have asked for a better day for an race and the WarHorse delivered what everyone expected and that was and extremely exciting and challenging course for all those that participated.

More Photos and Results, as well as 2007 up-to-date-points: http://www.atlanticgrandprix.com/AGPround507.html

This being the last race of the season up at North American WarHorse we had to do it in a big way so trail boss Dale Freitas changed the existing course to flow the opposite direction, also added was a new uphill section that connected with some really interesting technical stuff up on the ridge of the famed Moosic Mountain.

Again the course consisted of two tracks one that was just over three miles for the youth riders and the other which was 7 miles for the adults. The Holiday Inn hill and the Moosic moonwalk was also run back words eliminating the previous events bottleneck.

Temperature and weather wise you couldnÕt have asked for a better day. The morning started with a crisp 54¼ and by adult race time it was 82¼ with sun and clouds.

In the morning mini cycle race it was Lumberton NJ native Kenny Tanner who coved the 18 mile course in 55 minutes. Running in second and only one minute and 30 seconds behind was Plainville MA native and GNCC youth racer Garrett Harvey and in third was Pittston PA resident Justin Wilk who also won the 85cc (12-13) class.

The morning youth quad event was another great race with QuarryvilleÕs PA Austin Findley taking another well deserved win over hard charging Tyler Stacham out of Montdale PA, both covering the 15 mile course in around 60 minutes, Third went to Nichols Major out of Toms River NJ.

The Adult motorcycle race had quite a few new faces to the series with Eric Rodgers out of Dover PA taking the win and covering the 42 mile course in 1 hour and 29 minutes. Second was Blairstown NJ native Kenneth Weiner who did the same course in 1 hour and 35 minutes. Third went to another Blairstown NJ native and that was Jonathan Decamp. Spectators were treated to some spectacular jumps when all the front runners cleared almost the entire Holiday Inn down hill section.

The Adult quad race was another epic battle between AGP Pro Rob Hertz and MedwayÕs MA Scott Samuel. On lap 1 it was Scott Samuel who held the lead for 2 really fast laps, but on lap four Rob Hertz seized an opportunity and made the pass. The big surprise of the day was third overall and A-Vet rider Lou Russo out of Oakland NJ who put together 6 consistent 15 minute laps.

Another big plus was that the Atlantic Grand Prix series raised close to 3 thousand dollars for the local youth sports program from our gate fees.

Again thanks for all those that made the event a success and for those that didnÕt make it to the WarHorse...well there are still 5 more great AGP events in 2007and 2 of those are GNCC's.
