TRX350 problem

1987 TRX 350, starts and idles fine, problem is when put in gear it dies! When not in gear it idles and revs up fine, but put it in gear and it is like you shut the key off. When it dies it will start right up. Everything is stock. Any ideas. thanks.

Does it try to jump ahead when you put it in gear?

I can feel it shift, but it does not jump. Just shuts down and starts right back up and does same thing again.

Did a bolt or something come ajar in the the bottom or clutch tranny area?
