Be prepared to take on a second job too. As high-priced as their bikes are(not that they aren't worth it), I'd say the quads will push $8500. The 450xc bike is almost $8000 and I can't find anywhere to sell it under MSRP. Hopefully this will help KTM to be more main-stream and easier to get. Its an hour+ drive for me to see one IF they have one in stock. I'd like to have one but like with my WR. I got it for $6000 and the $2000 I saved will make it better than the KTM. I'd bet that the quads will end up the same way. The people who don't want FI will probably go with a Honda when they compare the prices and what they could do with the difference.

I can't see you at all buying any 450 and matching what the KTM comes with stock for less the $9000. Just the max GC a-arms and Ohlins shocks will run you $2500. Now lets say you get a killer deal on a 08 450R since there the cheapest, for $6000. Well add the arms and shocks and your at $8500. But your still 11hp short on the 525. How much will it cost to match. Then you hydraulic clutch, 3.7 gal tank, 2 stage cdi, Anti-vibe stem, and much more. But I can't see a 08 450R selling for a $1000 less tho, and it will even be less with the other 450's.

There are dealers that will sell for under MSRP if you know where to go. I guess I am lucky and have a great dealer about 20 minutes from my house. My wife bought me a 105sx for X-mas and I worked the deal and got it out the door for right at MSRP. So it can be done. I can say that my 105 has taken a beating and runs like a champ even with my 155 lb butt on it. It comes with some great features. I can tell you when the KTM 450SX quad comes out there will be one in my garage.
