I have a 1986 Big Red (250 ES) ATC that will not charge the battery, but it will run without one. It works good, but after a few weeks the battery will get weak (more so if you run the lights).
This motor is very simlar to the 300 utility quad.

bad voltage regulator? it is an 86 so the charging system could be bad
