300 shock stiff

i put a 300ex rear shock on my 250ex and its really stiff. all the preload is out but its still way too stiff any suggestions?

How did you go back to stock after drilling the holes in the shock mounts?

you dont have to drill anything it just bolts right up but i think im gonna try putting the 250 spring on

That's wierd, the new 250's must be different than the old 250's, because I definately had to drill mine from a 10mm hole to a 12mm hole

May I ask why? I probably wiegh more than them and the shock is working great for me, I wouldn't go back to what I had before.

For the original question, for a softer ride, try a banshee front shock, 400ex front shock, or a 2001 raptor rear shock. All of those are supposed to be softer than the 300ex rear shock.

my mod budget is tite i only payed like 8 bucks for this shock so im keeping it another shock is out of the question right now but would putting the 250 spring be doable and would it help?
