    rubicon noises

I have noticed that if I start my '03 rubicon in neutral it is fine but if I start it in gear as in holding the brake to start it when I give it gas to go it just spits and sputters and I have to turn it off and start it in neutral to get it to go again. Does anyone have any idea what that might be?

I have a 02 rubicon and it does the same. I read that it's a safety feature and them. If you dont start it in gear it gives it just enough fuel to idle and nuthing more. It's there so when you start it, it doesnt take off all of the sudden.

My dads rincon also does it. I would say it is a safety feature so you cant hit hte gas as soon as it is started. His goes away though when you let off the brake. Steve
