    carburator jetting

    could sumone take pics and step by step tell us where the jets are and how to change them with new ones because i want to change my own now

    HONESTLY, YOU ARE BETTER OFF BUYING A DYNOJET KIT. IT HAS PRETTY COMPREHENSIVE INSTRUCTIONS. THE STOCK NEEDLE IS NOT ADJUSTABLE, SO JUST CHANGING THE JETS WON'T ALLOW YOU TO DIAL IT IN VERY WELL. EVEN IF YOU DON'T HAVE ANY ENGINE MODS, THEY SEND YOU EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO GET MORE FROM JUST YOUR STOCK SETUP. IF YOU HAVE ENGINE MODS, THERE ARE ALL THE PARTS YOU NEED AS WELL. STAGE ONE AND TWO COME TOGETHER. WITH THE MODS IN YOUR SIGNATURE, I WOULD THINK YOU WOULD WANT TO OPEN UP YOUR AIR INTAKE SOME BY EITHER REMOVING THE LID, OR USING SOME UNI AIR VENTS, AND THEN PROBABLY USE THE STAGE TWO INSTRUCTIONS INCLUDED WITH THE KIT.

    PICK ONE UP OFF EBAY FOR ABOUT $50 SHIPPED.

    BEST AND FIRST MOD I ALWAYS DO. IT'S WAY NICE!!

    The OEM needle IS adjustable, the e-clip has 6 different positions.

    thanks ryan and as 4 the other guy thanks too but i already have 125 main and i took a hole saw and drilled out the corners of the lid so it will let air in and water wont get on the filter

    NO BIG DEAL. RYAN SEEMS LIKE A 250 GURU, AND I'M SURE THE OLDER MODELS HAVE ADJUSTABLE NEEDLE CLIPS, BUT I TOOK MINE APART THIS PAST WEEKEND AFTER SOMEONE ELSE POSTED THAT THEIR '07 NEEDLE WASN'T ADJUSTABLE AND SURE ENOUGH, IT WASN'T. IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE TO ME TO HAVE A NEEDLE THAT'S NOT ADJUSTABLE. IT REALLY DOESN'T LEAVE YOU WITH MUCH FLEXIBILITY, AND IT SEEMS THE NEEDLE IS SOMETHING YOU REALLY WOULD NEED TO FOOL AROUND WITH FOR SO MANY DIFFERENT ELEVATION CHANGES THAT THEY SHIP THESE MACHINES TO AFTER THEY ARE MANUFACTURED.

    EVEN IF YOU ARE RUNNING A 125 MAIN JET. YOU MAY WANT TO CHECK INTO CHANGING THE NEEDLE SO THAT YOU CAN MOVE THE CLIP AROUND TO DIAL IN YOUR MIDRANGE THROTTLE RESPONSE. YOU SPEND A LOT OF TIME IN THE MID-THROTTLE AREA, ESPECIALLY IN HIGHER GEARS. AND IT REALLY MAKES A DIFFERENCE IN RESPONSE.

    SOUNDS TO ME LIKE YOU AREN'T A BIG FAN OF RUNNING WITH NO AIRBOX LID (LIKE ME). I SAW ON EBAY A LID FOR THE 250 THAT HAD THE TOP CUT OUT AND FRAMED WITH THE OUTERWEARS FILTER THAT FLOWS ALMOST AS GOOD AS NO COVER, BUT REPELS WATER AND PREFILTERS DIRT. IT LOOKS BETTER THAN MY LID WITH THE UNI AIR VENTS, AND IT WAS PRETTY REASONABLY PRICED ($40, I THINK). IF YOU RIDE IN A LOT OF MUD OR WATER, YOU MAY WANT TO CONSIDER THAT LID.

    yea so far the holes that r not directly over the filter have dun ok ill take sum pics when i get the quad back from the shop

    holes in the airbox are worthless. The ONLY time i ever ran into trouble running no lid was when i got stupid and decided to repeatedly cross a creek deep enough to the top of my fenders.

    I run no airbox now and If anything I clean my air filter less often than i had to WITH an airbox...

    Just some food for thought.
