What????? A 300ex and warrior(raptor 350, nearly the same) slower than a 250ex??? That rider really must suck or bikes are in poor condition. When I had a warrior, 300ex's out handled it and it kept up in straight aways. There was a few guys who had 250ex's and they were in the back of the pack. My 86 atc200x, lightly modded, out handled, out accelerated, and had faster top speed than a 250ex. 300ex's would beat my 200x in top end and acceleration. I find it very hard to beleive, unless the riders and/or the bikes really suck and in poor condition. I rode my 200x a few times with a 250ex, I was waiting for him the whole time. You have to remember, its mostly rider and least the bike. You and your 250ex maybe faster than your buddies 300ex and warrior(considereing they are in good shape), but put the same bikes, but with good riders and the results are very different, you and your 250ex will be far in the back. Sorry about the hit of reality, a 250ex needs alot of help to keep up with more performance oriented bikes.

if you are talking top speed, then the info would be about true, most of the stock bikes(smaller dispalcement) top out about the same speed, the big difference being how fast it gets there. In my world....top speed doesn't mean anything, its all about how fast you can get from point to point, do the jump(s), handle whoops/obstacles, do the turn, how much speed you keep and how fast you can tackle the next bunch of jumps, whoops, obstactles, and so on.

being both stock, they are kinda close. The difference is the 300ex has alot more aftermarket support and you can change the sprockets for what riding you are doing, and tires used. In short...the 300ex has alot of room for growing, the 250ex is limited. You can build the 300ex to keep up with modded 400ex's and stay on par with the handling. There isn't much for a 250ex to do that.

yea a 300ex has alot more potential than a 250ex,
i mean a 300 it more sport oriented a 250ex is more aimed at recreational riding (shaft driven)

I own a 250ex and a 300ex and the 300 gets up to speed much faster than the 250 and when modded the 300ex will absolutely spank the little 250ex. Top speed on the 250 is about 45-50mph and the 300ex is about 50-55mph stock.
    I am now quadless...
