    boysen reeds????????????

    what are bosen reeds and are they worth it?

    Well, there reeds made by boysen, and they will give you allittle more power.

    ok then waht are reeds in this is a stupid ? but i have no clue wht they are and were they mount and might get one for like$50 is that a good deal?????????

    Well, to put it simply, reeds are what keep your combustion from blow out through your carb. Reeds are a good way to gain performance, but do require taking your cylinder off, and allittle know-how, so considering you didn't know what they are, you prolly don't know how to do it. (not a problem, we all have to learn sometime) If you want to try doing a reed job, buy a gasket set, a service manual, and start going at it(i'm not sure, but I think you'll also prolly need an imact screwdriver), or visit you dealer.

    why do you ahve to take the head off?? cant you just pull the cab and the intake boot ogg. and buy new gaskets got the reed cage and put them in?

    also i have a quastion does the style of the cagethat gives you the power or is it the reed petals? thanks!

    ya what are you talking about?? you have to take the carb off and then unbolt the reedvalve.

    you do not need to remove the cylinder. You take the carb, and reed assembly off, and the reeds have I believe 2 screws holding them on, thats it.

    ya its really easy, i just installed the whole v force reed valve in my blaster, but you gotta watch the gaskets on the reed valve and make sure they are not broke or anything, because mine where pretty messed up when i took the reed assebly out but the v force kit i got came with new gaskets.

    Oops, sorry, the last one I did was a lt250r and on those you just take the head off to replace them, I havn't done my blaster yet..
