All you 250x owners

Some friends and I are doing a 250x rebuild. Were getting a 1991? 250x that is a complete quad, that need s rear shock, 3rd gear, brakes, sprockets, carb needs cleaning, and some other stuff. Were going to make it really nice, but i have some questions as to what parts will fit it.

- I have heard numerous times that the Raptor 660 rear shock with fit on the back of a 300ex, is this true?

- We are putting a 400ex front end on, can we use 450r shocks?

- Does the "250x" have reverse like the 300ex does?

- What are good spots to gusset on the frame?

The '01 raptor remote rezzie rear shock will fit

The 450r shocks are a bit longer than 400ex shocks but they will work with the upper shockmount relocation bracket. You may have to adjust the ride height to the lowest setting but it should work.

Yes the 250x has reverse.

Can't help you with the gussets but a quick search for "300ex gussets should get you the info you need. Or you could make a post in the BKPerformance section. I'm sure pappy could help you with that.

Gussets. Dont forget the footpeg area. That area see's lots of cracks. Inspect the swinger heavily too. Look for flaking paint (stressed areas)
