    motor problems

    i rebuilt my motor and its ticking now, is it my values? should i also rejet it? it has a 400 carb on it now.

    Make sure your valves are adjusted correctly. If you are running an aftermarket cam some slight ticking is normal. You should rejet for the 400 carb to work properly. A search for "300ex with 400ex carb" should turn up some results for jetting to get you in the ballpark.

    The ticking could be a few things. Your valves may have too much clearance (.004 both is spec), cam chain or tensioner may be bad, or of coarse something may have been left loose.

    Jetting depends on the mods.
