Is a yoshi pipe quiet enough

I am going to be in a hare scramble and poeple have told me that most pipes are not quiet enough for a hare scramble. They tell me I need to use a fmf quiet core and I hate fmf.
Also what are the first things I should do to modify the 450. Engine wise and not to spendy

Buy the $39 CRBM and remove your spark arrestor and air box lid.

Of course if you remove the spark arrestor it will be MUCH louder though.

The Yoshi with the sparky in will get you into any race with a 96 Db sound limit.

My Yoshi keeps getting 97 db at our sound check in dist. 34. The guy keeps saying it's the quietest "race" pipe there. There are a lot of variables to the sound checks though, but the way he does it it's 97 db,3 feet behind at a 45 degree angle I beleive. I actually think it's quieter now with the megabomb header I installed from christmas too.
