    Custom Steering Stem.

I might do a little project. My pro steering is shot, to much play in it for my liking. I seen that the new 07 predators do away with the pro steering and use a normal system. I was thinking of taking my stem out and welding on a flange off another stem and making my tie rods longer. Has anyone else done something like this? If so is there pictures of your work so I can use it as a reference.

agree w/ the pro steering option ... new - they feel great - after some useage, they become loose w/ little to no adjustment to bring back the brand new performance feel... i even replaced my factory stem w/ a HPD stem - i like the looks w/ the new tag low bars, but i still have slop in the stem...

i didn't know they switched back to a conventional steering system in '07 - guess that tells you something there... if they asked me my recommendation - i'd ask for a retro for my '05...

I was just going to unbolt the 2 arms that the tie rods bolt to and keep the rest for the bearing housing. I have a 300ex stem and the flange looks like it should work good, I just need to make my tie rods longer and I should be good to go.

My PRO steering was great. It let you turn sharp, and stopped most of the bump steer. But now there is just to much slop in it and its driving me nuts! I would just buy a new 07 stem but I'm sure it cost a few hundred bucks, I just don't have that right now. Plus you need a few more parts I think because the new stems are a little longer.

The 2 arms have needle bearings in them, both of mine are floppy.

I was just looking on ronnies and noticed that its a different stem (109$) and tierods (20$) Everything else looks the same. So for less than 150-200 you can swap to a new system..
