    400ex governor?

do 400ex's have a gov. on them? a local honda dealer told me they did and it was in the cylinder and it let the psiton come up more on the stroke. is that true? how fast would you go if you pulled it up or adjusted it? he said you could only move it so far before the piston was going so fast it woulnd reverse itself and snapp in 2. please help. later:devil

There is nothing to pull up or adjust because it isn't there. He was lying to you; surprise, surprise, especially coming from somebody as honest as a dealer...

Not to personally attack whoever told you that, but they are either dumb or stupid, their choice. Did you ask him if he has checked his blinker fluid lately, I think its low. But enough about him; I think he may of been trying to talk about the Rev Limiter, which just puts a cap on how high your engines RPM's can get. It's electronic though, not in the cylinder. The Rev Limiter doesn't really act as a governor it just keeps the piston from hitting ya in the nuts when you have her wide open, meaning keeps the engine within it's "limits". You can bump the max RPM's up about a 1000 with an aftermarket if you do a lot of wide open riding but other than that you really won't notice a difference.:devil

I know what you mean, it's hard to ignore what someone is telling you when you would think they know more about the product they are selling than you do. We weren't harping on you we were laughing at him!

Sorry, didn't mean to start anything . Just didn't know whether you were serious.
I saw your devil smiley, so I was moved away from thinking it was a serious question. My bad.
