    Hybrid Frame Questions

I am starting my Hybrid Project since I got a hell of a deal on a Blown 2002 CRF450....I have a couple questions on frames...and I figured you guys could maybe answer them.

    1. Anyone with a stock 400EX Frame Conversion from JB, How do you like it?
I had a brand new 400EX in 200 and loved the bike with the 400 motor, how do they handle with the 450 Motor

2.Is there any company like JRD, Lonestar, PRP, Frontline, out there selling Hybrid aftermarket frames that use 400EX componets instead of 250R. I ask this beacuse the 400EX parts are easier to get in good shape than the 250R parts and that the new 400EX parts from Honda are way cheaper than the 250R

Any Help on wil be greatly appreciated......thanks in advance

Depending on what you want to spend, if you have the money I would go with a full aftermarket frame. Jody from JB Racing built an aftermarket frame for my YZ450F that uses a 250R protrax front end, 400ex linkage and swingarm with 250R carrier and axle, and the rear brake is the front brake from a CRF450 dirtbike. The rest of the parts were all from a 400ex. I know Jody also made aftermarket frames that could use all 400ex parts and geometry. I would give him a call to see if he will still build frames.

Well thats an aftermarket 4130 chromoly frame, built specifically for that motor and the geometry I requested. As far as a conversion 400 frame as in your case with the yz, the yz is the better motor to do in the 400 frame, for one its easier to do versus the crf, and they seem to have less vibration. Every conversion I have seen with the crf in the 400 frame have pretty much toasted the upper frame rails. Also like you said fig riding smooth and having good suspenson and can prevent cracking.
