The jets were soaring right over the track, and performing all sorts of aerobatics.
This is the line for tech inspection. All quads were sound tested and checked over to make sure they were safe. The PDV rules call for extra chain protection around the rear sprocket area, and also a rear numberplate attached to the grabbar and facing side to side. It is also mandatory that you bring your fire extinguisher to tech.
On Saturday morning was the youth race, its good to see the future of the sport. The kids ran the same track, and served to wear down the grass a little.
About 2 hours before the race was to start, the sky opened up and poured down rain. It had rained every night while we were there, and continued on race day. Everyone was scrambling to get their quads setup for the muddy conditions.

It was interesting to see how everyone was taping up their quads for the water and mud.

The KIK Honda team used a pair of Madonna's panties that they got off Ebay to deflect some of the splash.
Some teams didn't feel a need to waterproof their quads. This is the YFZ of the Yamaha France team, ridden by prevoius PDV winner Gregory Lassaigne.
