Wpsa Tour Raceway Park (englishtown, Nj)

August 17-20th Wpsa held an event. Thurs. and friday were practices then Saturday and Sunday were the races. If you guys never herd of these events it is like a National with more publicity

For Rippin Glory Racing members that raced it wasn't a good week. First of all Jrod blew his motor and had to whip something together in one day thanks to fast shipping and Trickracinginc.com! Anyways Matt and Frank both qualified for c-class finals and then in the first turn frank came out of the holeshot in 4th then another racers on a ltr450 slid into a turn sideways and got caught up with frank. It took 8 guys including myself to get them untangled. Matt went around the holeshot turn midpack until we was side-sweep by another guy, the colision was so ntense that it took roughly 30-40 seconds to get them untangled. After a broken heel guard and a lost of a half of a lap he was able to pass 5 guys. Franks motor was sputtering in the higher gears and couldnt do much about it. They ended up finshing 15 and 16th or something like that. Jrod on the other hand had a world of bad luck. From running out of gas to dnf's he didnt qualify for his b-class and qualified for his 16-24 open class but from the motor not running right (seems like carb issues) was not able to race that final on sunday. A former member John Bilarzcyck had his first raced, jumped the gate and was 3 quaters of a lap behind, he ended up finishes 5 or 6th then 11th in the 2nd moto due to bad judgement and was unable to qualify. As for steve, justin, bill and myself, They had blown motors, and I am picking up my Yfz Tommorrow (tuesday) after a bunch of problems i encoutered with the 450r. I finally got it running good and sold it before anything else can happen.

In the pro Class, at the final race The battle was between Dustin wimmer and digger doug gust. dustin wimmer came away wih the holeshot followed by harold goodman and Gust. By mid race douggie passed goodman and was on a charge for wimmer. Gust finally got around wimmer after a good 5 laps back and fourth, intense action!

The podium went to Gust in the #1 spot, wimmer at #2 and Pat brown, the local boy to round out your top 3.

I made the C final. Tell me that 1st and 2nd turn off the start weren't crazy. I felt like Cole Trickle in Days of Thunder, I was blinded by dust and then there were quads everywhere. I don't know how I found a way through all that carnage.

The pics of the guy with the z400, that wasnt the guy that got tangled up with the 400ex in the c class race. That was some funny stuff, those two guys were all over and on the edge!!! I think the announcer was even getting a kick out of it.

Yeah thats matt on the z400, i didnt seem him even get tangled i was taking pics on the track next to the step up elevator. what all happened between those two?

wimmer and gust had a great year coming down to the last race and it being so close was just soo intense!
