    ok i have a ?

There is a motorcycle shop close to me that works mostly on honda, and the 450s. he builds alot of them around here and there quick and insanely fast. But my question is......
For 60 bucks he does something to them....and it makes them WAY faster. he says honda has some restriction on them that he takes off..... ANY idea what he does? my friend told me, that this guy said it had something to do with the way it breathes.... Any ideas?

Without much experience on my part, I'm guessing he does the "green wire snip" mod (cost is labor only), rejets (labor plus $5 for jet), non k&N airfilter (labor plus $15-$20)

    That's just my guess.

so for an hour of work and about $20-$25 he is charging $60 and making $35-$40.

Of course, I could be way off..............

Why don't you look over your friends bike that has this "mod"...compare it to yours and see if there is any difference.

It is cutting the green wire that goes to the cdi. It gives the bike an extra 1,000rpm up top. Do a search for some pictrues or description as to the exact wire.

These hondas come lean from factory. He prolly rejets it too. If there is no new filter on your friends bike, my money is on some better jetting and the wire mod. Dude prolly makes like 50 bucks if that's the case.

Cutting the green wire is the same as installing the bypass from the 06 HRC kit. Of course this mod only works for 06-07's.

I would guess cut the lid to make it like an hrc lid. Cut the screen out of the factory endcap and cut the screen out of the factory air filter. And then rejet or install the hrc needle and rejet. I would also say he cuts the green wire if it is an 06.
