    Porting on a 4 stroke

How much does it really help? Is it like most other mods, only adds a little, and when you put it all together it adds all up? I am wondering if it is worth the 300-400 dollars for porting. Who would be the best bet to get it done right? I am thinking TC or Sparks.

If your doing a big bore like the 440 kit your stupid if you don't port your engine. It allows for air to get in faster and it really wakens you 440 kit up. It can also be valuable on a stock machine, just won't make as big of a difference. Me and my friend have te same 440 kit, cam, etc. The difference his hasn't been ported because he's an idiot and I smoke him. Now he wants to get it ported and polished like mine.

if this is for the 425 you have listed it should help out alot. with the comprssion you have and the fcr carb it will open te thing up alot. if you go with porting also ask about installing oversized valves, if you have the money send your head to a good builder and have him set it up to work with what you have.

$300-400 for porting! I had my mechanic do port and polish for $80. Quite a diff. from before and after!

mayb a mild port and polish would cost 80 but most motor builders charge 30-400 for full race porting which usually also covers a valve job
