2006 ATVA MX Nationals Round #12 –Unidilla - New Berlin, NY – Amateur Coverage
July 28-30 Racers and fans head north to the next stop of the ATVA National MX series. This year, Unidilla presented riders with changing weather conditions throughout the weekend. Friday, many riders sat to the side as others made their way around the mud filled track. Saturday's morning weather dried up the track offering great race conditions. The tables turned Saturday evening as high winds and rain ceased racing. Sunday's weather faired out quite better than the previous days. The sun beat down on the track causing dust to develop early in the day. The track crew was on top of the situation, watering throughout the day.
I hit the road Saturday morning heading north through Pennsylvania. Through the mountains I ran through a lot of fog.
The natural hills of the Unidilla facilty offered many elevation changes. Located near the Unidilla river, the track has plenty of access to water to keep the track in perfect race conditions.
The men behind Cardio Stack Racing were in attendence this weekend to support their racers and friends. They also offered advice and answers to questioning riders
Dana Creech is on the east coast preparing for the last round of the WPSA Series and decided Unidilla would be a great oppurtunity for some seat time. Dana qualified for the pro-main, however bike problems forced him to sit off to the side and cheer on his fellow racers.
