    Question Aluminum Airbox

I saw one of these in an ad in a mag for the 400EX, and have heard them mentioned on here before. I was wondering what the reasoning is for them. Is there a performance gain in these or are they just more of a looks thing.

I`m sure they add some power and weigh less but, the main reason for them is so you can put your battery and all your wires in a safe spot inside the airbox.

The stock is prone to breaking at the back mounts and only very thin plastic.I had all ready got a stock replacement for mine cause it broke from jumping. The replace ment is only like 7 dollars. But the alloy one is nice cause the batter and wireing can kit in side it.
Today we ride the R, Tommorow we ride the 400ex
