    LT80 throttle control + clutch + ???

Some of you may have read my posts about the LT80 I bought for my son's birthday present....

I finally got a bunch of parts in, and it's nearing completion.

I'm kind of worried though. If I turn the throttle limiter all the way in it will barely pull my 100LB wife around the freshly mowed yard. I have to push her, unless she's facing downhill.

When I adjust it so she gets up to a jogging pace it takes a while to get there, then if she heads downhill it will accelerate pretty quick.

I'm having a really hard time finding a happy medium between no-go at all, and 12-15 MPH or so top speed.

This will be my boys first time on a real quad, so I want to keep it as slow as possible, but he has to be able to get it going without being pushed.

    Any suggestions?

Removing 3 of the 6 rollers may help get you what is desired.
You will get a slow take off and slow speed but with normal rpm's.
Restricting the throttle to 1/2-3/4 may be usable then.
If it still is too quick, try 2 rollers..It won't be fast then!!
