It hurts the accleration a little but it mostly just makes my quad pull eatch gear harder (it doesn't bog the bike it just rings out farther) much improved top speed. Overall very good idea with the mods I have (see my signature).

i put the 14 tooth up front about 5 months ago.. with my mods, i was finding myself pinned in 5th all the time almost,, i needed that extra gear... and it actually feels like an extra gear,, you will easily be able to run down a blaster even if he gets the hole on you.. as for acceleration..on the stock motor,, the starting in 2nd gear is kinda rough you really need to konw where that power band is,, but first gear is nice and long so you dont even have to..if you are interested in draggin against other 300`s or whatever just wind out the first gears and youl love the punch shifting and leaving stockers behind,,,:devil

for that answer.. it doesnt increase power anywhere, it adjusts to where you want it,, if you have a mod motor and more power then what what it puts out,, id say yea put it on,, but if ur bone stock, and runnin short track or tight track or tigh trails, u may want go to a 12,, increase in accel,, but major decrease in top.

I have 20" Razrs on my 300EX with stock size sprockets. I have a 14T Renthal c/s sprocket which I have not yet installed. Do you guys think the 14T would make up for the smaller tires? Would it bring it back to stock gearing, not quite, or beyond stock gearing?

    Basically,

You start out with a 13 tooth stock.

If your engine is completely stock, you know exactly how it runs with a 13. Now if you put a 14 tooth on your stock engine, you will gain mph in the top end area, since every revolution you got another tooth pushing. But you will lose your torque and accel fast. I wouldn't mess with a 14tooth until you get a pipe. Should add about 3-5mph top. I don't think just tires will equal out the lose. But you might as well try. Remember though if you have a slow accelerating machine, top end wont matter anyways cuz you already got your *** kicked
