Exclamation Silinoid is Clicking...Need Help ASAP

I was wondering how i could over ride the silinoid with a screw driver? Ive heard alota people talk about it but ive never seen it done. I tried today and all it did was drain my battery. I have good connnections and everything but what would cause the silinoid to make a loud click when i hit the start button? Would this mean that i just need a new silinoid or do i need a whole new starter.. Thanks

If you cross the solenoid with a screwdriver and your starter turns over, you need a new solenoid. I just went through this on my quad. I went through my Clymer manual with the troubleshooting and the book says that if it clicks with the start button but it turns over with crossing the solenoid, it is a bad solenoid. I got a new one off Ebay for like $35 plus shipping. Dealer price is over $60. Anyway, hope I helped
