    426 ping

    i just got my bike all togther. it seems to run great but when i am at a low speed in a higher gear and get on it, the engine starts pinging. ive pulled my plug and it looks good. im running 92 octane right now.... should i jump up higher or is my problem elsewhere

    Running my 416 for the past 2 seasons I always mixed a 50/50 ratio of 91 pump and 110 leaded for an average of 100 octane. Seemed to run real good. No problems. I hear you can "get by" on pump 93 but I didn't build my motor to just get by. Give it some of the good stuff.

    You need more octane. I detonate (ping) on 91 with a 10.8:1 under high load conditions.
