Need help with a serious problem... PLEASE!!

What would cause the site glass on the side cover to blow out? Does the tranny build up that much pressure?

We were riding today in Bowie, which is a little dune area in AZ, and I got an overheat light on my status kit. So I let it cool down, thinking it was from the drag racing. Turn it back on about 10 minutes later, no light. Made a couple more passes, came on again. Looked over the engine and saw the site glass gone. There was still fluid in the bottom of the motor.... just towed it back to the truck.

Guess I'm gonna have to drop the motor to get the side cover off to clean everything... got some sand in there.


But any help would be great.... why would this happen?

I CAN'T IMAGINE THE TRANNY BUILDING UP ENOUGH PRESSURE TO BLOW OUT A GLASS IF IT IS PROPERLY INSTALLED. I AM NOT AN EXPERT, BUT IT SOUNDS LIKE A DEFECTIVE GLASS OR IMPROPERLY INSTALLED ONE. I MIGHT BE WRONG, BUT THAT'S MY TWO CENTS.
