break in help needed please

i got my quad but forgot the manual at the dealer and not sure when i will be able to get it.i need to know how long to run the break in oil for and what oil do i change it too?how much does the system hold?any help appreciated thanks

the ltr 450 uses 10w 40 motor oil the manual says drain it warm and add 1.4 quarts to the oil tank in front of the cylinder and .4 quarts into the crankcase. there are two drain plugs on the botom of the motor use both of them. In one of these threads there is a very good link to proper break in of a new 4-stroke motor. do not use synthetic motor oil until after complete break in which according to the article is at least 2 full days of riding hard. here is the site i don't know how to set it up so you can just click on the link but here is the address http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm hope this somewhat helps. i will find my manual and if you need more info just ask. also i just took the 20" sand skate II paddles off my trx 250r and they fit, same bolt pattern and did not rub on the back of the heel guards.

oh yeah and the oil filter is the same one that is used in the LTZ 400
