    problems

    I have a predator 90 and have alot of problems with it. I does not like any water at all, we do not go in puddles its just normal water on trail. It shuts down after a while, I have cleaned the stator, put the air breather in a different possition and added a snorkel to it. When it sits for a while it will usually start right up.
    It seems to be electrical but dont know alot about electrical.

    If you believe it is electrical, take all the electrical connections apart and clean them. After cleaning them apply some type of dielectric grease to all the electrical connections. We use Permatex dielectric tune-up grease available at any auto parts store.

    There's a few more tricks that can be done as well:

    1 - Install a thick 10 Guarge "ground wire" from the battery to the frame. For a picture of our thicker ground wire, surf:

    2 - Pull apart, clean and apply dielectric grease to all electrical contact points. Conectors and kill switches are common for bad contacts when exposed to water. We do this dielectric greasing every 6 months.


    3 - Clean the Stator Assembly with brake cleaner fluid and apply silicone spray to its coils. Don't spray this stuff on its contact / pickup points. For pictures of what we use, surf:

    Note: Its best to remove the stator assembly before spraying this stuff on its coils. Thus, getting protective spray on the front, sides and back of the coils.


    4 - Some install an extra thick ground wire from the frame to the engine. For example, a thick 8 guage wire (which is the size of a small battery cable wire). This helps keep "even electrical current" within its electrical system as well.


    5 - Put a few drops of WD-40 within its ignition key hole. I've been told 2-3 drops every 6 months helps repel water / dampness in this area as well.
