Don't forget that we're talking about stock quads.

2005 450R
the fastest quad ever made is the lt500... period then the banshee and tacate....... thats the order period. thats why those 3 were taken to the salt flats a long time ago. cause they were the fastest quads out there. but a blaster is up there too
88 250r with paul turner motor ..... classic and still the best!
I highly doubt that a stock banshee would run with the tecate and lt500 in stock form.

ok a banshee is a 350 and a tecate is a 250.... banshee has it beat in cc's and doesnt weigh hardly any more... but of course it doesnt run with an lt500.... its just the 2 next fastest

I have raced a stock banshee and won on my stock cannondale. I have no idea how good the other ride was but I'm definitely not a drag racer. And if I'm getting beat by yfzs, then they're faster than the banshee too. But like I said, it could have been the rider. The truth is, I have seen 2 completely stock 400exs race and one was hands down faster than the other. We switched quads and the faster quad again took the lead every time. Because of this, its hard to say which quad is faster, especially now that the 450s are so close.

A properly tuned and in good mechanical condition stock banshee is surprising. With my pump gas dome in my 250r vs a stock banshee I was only 2-3 quad lenghts ahead from a roll in a 3th to 6th gear run. But that run was on alphalt, on dirt my advantage was greater and the kid weighted about 90 pounds less than me. vs a 05 450r, the 450r had the advantage on the launch and the banshee always passed him a few feets later.Originally posted by jesshamner

I agree about a banshee being surprising. They're fast no doubt. Is your 250r stock? I don't really know much about 250rs and what a pump gas dome means. If yours is stock and what people say is true about a stock 250r being the same speed as a stock 400ex, then that would mean that the banshee is slower than both the 250r and 400ex in stock form. I have raced a stock banshee on my stock 400ex and I never even had a chance.
