    Where'd my throttle go? = carb jett?

    okok, i just put all this stuff on my '00 ex: 165 main jett + TC supertrapp pipe, and i was just blasting through a snowy field and the throttle cut out. it would idle but as soon as id hit the gass it would cut out again.. i just put the new jett in there so i think its that.. help?.. email me back at Fenix169motox@yahoo.com thanks

    Odd.. the size of the jet looks rich (but I'm no expert on a 400ex).
    But, your symptom sounds lean.

    Where are you cutting out at. If it's at 30-70% throttle, then you need to move your needle up a notch. Probably lean on your needle if you didn't move it.

    Sounds like the main jet fell out, it happens

    Remove the drain plug under the carb and see if it's sitting there.

    it had an fmf pipe on it and im guessing it was jetted before cause it ran smothe.. .. i was riding it again today and when it cut out i looked and choke was on, is that normal at all?, and which grove should i put in on?

    The spring gets weak after awhile and bounces shut- rebend the spring. (metal that locates the notches)

    everybody he said he had his choke on! lol that means in 3rd its going to cut out or rev low lol put ur choke all the way down ( push it towards ur rear tire) if its not that then i think its lean or jsut maybe the main jet fell out... but its gotta be ur choke being on thats cutting it out!!

    He's going fast enough that those bumps hit harder to knock the choke loose?

    i try, but it hasent done it in a few days , i think it was just a fluke
    thanks for the info though, but im confused with the whole "in 3rd gear" thing????
