    Thrown Rods?

    just wondering if anyone here has had any problems with their rod or crank. i have my cylinder off and thought i might go ahead and replace the rod and do the trans. update. it is an 03. if anyone has an aftermarket rod, what brand? thanks\

    The only reason I can think of to replace that rod is if you are doing a big bore kit. All too often, do I see pics of guys with big bore kits and have the rod poking out of the case.

    If you are keeping the stock bore, the stock rod should be fine.

    but what doea that MXaudio guy know, my buddy has the 900CC big bore kit on his pred, and he shved the rod to save weight and he has been fine so far

    900cc's, you know who makes it?

    but, yes, i do have the 558 kit and running a 12.5 piston with a shaved head, so comp. is around 13:1 i would assume. thanks

    Yeah, I've seen that guy....He wears his helmet backwards too...makes him go faster.

    i'm gonna call B.S. on this one...900cc kit wiht a stock shaved rod!! you're smoking crack...maybe a 600cc hot seat kit!
