raptor starter ?

sometimes when i go to start my 03 raptor i hit the button and i just hear the starter spinning but its not engaging sometimes it will hook up hard and start turning and other times i have to push it and drop the clutch to get the moter to kick over and then when i hit the starter button it works it doesnt make sense am i hurting it by still using it please help

prob the one way starter bearing, strange though, i thought they usually just went out?

yeah i think its the starter clutch sometimes it will hook and sometimes it wont

starter clutch, it was doing the some thing on my bike!!! so i changed it and starter like a brand new bike..

You should pull the starter and check starter and ring gear for broken-missing-woren teeth. This can also be caused by loose wires.

yeah mine does the same thing go to www.ripperracing.com and getthe LA designs one way clutch bearing, there its 195 bucks but it works amazing and then use www.raptortranny.com to help you install it!
