Due to the DNR implementing restrictions, NO youth ATV classes will be allowed to race. ATV racers in the adult classes under the age of 18 must have a safety cerfificate to participate. For questions or comments about these changes contact these DNR personnel:
    David Downing 515-281-3449
    Mike Bonser 319-240-5034
The Trailblazers apologize for these last minute changes.
Please note that youth motorcycle classes will now begin at 9:30 a.m. instead of 8:30 a.m.

I think the DNR sucks. You can ride a motorcycle at 4 but not an Atv. Come on what kind of BS is this? Someone's got their head all screwed up !!!!! It seems to me that the racers always get the shaft. Most of the people hurt on atvs are riding on a gravel road or without a helmet and they are not racers.

I had a phone conversation yesterday with David Downing, this is the guy that is in charge of all the riding parks in Iowa (DNR). He told me the reason why HE decided to implement this law regarding the kids atv race on Sunday. He told me it was much safer for kids to race dirt bikes than atv's. WTF is this guy talking about. How many kids have gotten hurt racing in our series ?

This guy has been in office for 3 or 4 years now. I had alot of people tell me this is a good guy to have in there (DNR). BS since he has been in office we have lost our right to ride in ditches and now this.

It is total crap!! I was told by a DNR/rentacop/wannbefbi whatever they are, that its because "any idiot can get on a quad and ride it and wreck and hurt someone, but it takes a level of maturity and skill for a young kid to ride a bike, so they are safer" whatever. its all in the parents controlling the kids and teaching them. there are alot of teenagers/grown-ups on both quads and bikes in the parks that are WAY more dangerous than the little kids IMO.
