03 kodiak starting ??

i'm having a problem starting my kodiak yammi 400.iIt will not start with the electric start,and will start with the pull start.M ? is the starter relay by the battery has any-one have that gone bad before?????.When i hit the starter button that relay clicks.If i jump the 2 bolts that come from the battery to that relay it will start.Does any-one know if that is the right way to jump the relay?

on your sylinoid (relay) take a screw driver and cross the 2 posts and hit the starter button if it starts right up then you prally have a bad syliniod. If it dosen't then you have a bad battery
