from what you are describing, a 500 HO Polaris Sportsman would work pretty good... offering a great ride, & the ability to putt around all day with out getting hot... it would be lacking a little in the racing around catagory, if he was wanting something a little quicker, the 660 Griz, or the 700 Prairie would be my choices... I personally love the Prairies, & think they are the perfect machine ( for me ), but I'm not really too fond of the IRS machines, & am willing to give up some ride comfort for the more sporty handling of the SRA machines... seems like both the Griz & the Prairies have a little less ability to stay cool, especially true if the radiators are partially plugged, & putting around, than the the Polaris's... BTW... the new 800 Bomb, is suposed to handle like an SRA quad but still has IRS, & the biggest fastest ( stock ) motor in a utility quad so far...
2002 ( now ) 750cc Prairie... to many mods & tires to list here...

i agree with what was said about the wolverine, may not be as fast as kfx or 450r, but they are quick for a 4x4 ute. if price is an issue i would definently get the wolv

get a foreman400 or 450 because they don't drowned out as much as a grizzly and foremans dont have belts 2 get wet and slip

IMO, the Grizzly 660 is hard to beat, as it has been out for a good while now, and has gotten all of the bugs worked out. And, they ride awesome. I rode a friend of mine's Grizzly across a fairly rough field with alot of angled (Approx 45 degree) ruts that normally jar a solid axle quad, and the grizzly made the ride soooo smooth it was unreal! Could hit them 45- 50 MPH with ease!

i would say look into the vinson, king quad, or Prarie..all sporty, fast and reliable, great handling machines. If you want something with a SRA then look into the vinson or teh prarie but if you want IRS id say look into the KQ. just my opinion..becasue im looking into what i shoudl get in spring 06..2006 Grizz 660 or KQ 700??..im still not sure lol
