Talking My dad Into A Used First Atv

Ok, I'm 14 And Looking To Buy My First Atv. While I was Looking Around I Found Out That My Uncle Is Selling His 1998 HOnda Fourtrax 300. Its Custom Painted Yellow With The Decals Still On It,And Passengers Seat , and Looks Sweet. The Only Problem Is That The Choke Switch Is Broken Off And You Have To Stick A Pin In And Turn It to Use It, Other Then That Nothing, Works Fine, Its 2200, and Since Im Only 14 Thats an Amount For Me To Spend So My Dad Agreed To go Half On it, but he doesnt Want to buy it cause it's used and its only 2wd, How can I talk My Dad into Letting Me Get it? and I have done alot of looking around to.

If I were to do it all over again.. I'd NEVER buy a new atv.. lol. I'd get one for half the price that someone babied and washed and garaged it more than they rode it.. lol. Then I'd tear the bastage apart and use the extra $3500 to make the quad 10x better than a brand new one. Then sell the near mint condition used parts on ebay. But, that's just me.

Those Honda 300's are awesome. My Dad had a 97 two wheel drive that walked through every mud hole I tried. (Which was everyone I saw) Just put meaty tires on it and go. From what I've seen they hold their value well, low maintenace are bulletproof on top of it. Just my $.02.
