Spectators lined up all along the railroad track to watch the class take offs and then would have to jump in their cars and head back over to the mine site to catch the rest of the race action.

10 women headed to the line 9 took off on the track and by mid way thru the first lap 3 others would DNF. Jill Gilreath on the Kawi would take first today for the womens riders.

Racers already having problems in the first 1/8 mile of the course.

You could see the clouds of dust way before the riders so you knew someone was coming.

Vet B rider Jared Bertels racing his yamaha wold take 7th at the end of the race.

Most of the riders were spacing out due to the dusty conditions a few others were still looking for passing lines.
