    Warn Winch Problems

    HEY GUYS LAST WEEKEND I WAS HELPIN MY BUDDY MOVIN SOME TREES AND WERE USING TWO WINCHES TO GET THIS BIG ONE TO STAND BACK UP. AND ALL I DID WAS HOOK IT UP AND PULL THE TREE UP LIKE 10 FEET AND IT STOPPED WORKIN. BUT WHEN U PRESS ON THE UP AND DOWN BUTTON IT JUST MAKES A CLICKIN SOUND DOES ANDYBOYD KNOW WHAT COULD BE WRONG I JUST BOUGHT IT ABOUT A YEAR AND A 1/2 AGO.

    the clicking sound might be from the control relay, you could have burnt up the motor.

    So does that mean the winch is no good. Do you know what the circuit thing is resistor

    what modle winch do you have. 2.5ci or the 2.5ce
    find that out and ill call up warn and find out what could be wrong with your winch. also on the motor side see if you can smell the motor. if it smells burnt then its major repair.

    28" mudlite tires, 2" lift kit
    lot of other mods done to much to list.

    i think it is the 2.5 ci model does it make a difference?

    theres something diffrent with the braking, inside the winch...
    CI has an interlock brake witch will slip if heavy loaded. the CE has an electric brake witch locks the motor so it wount slip with a heavy load.
    had a 2004 440EX
