Canan Summerfield has stepped up his racing for 2005 and currently sits way atop the points in the 90cc 8-11 class. The participation level has been very low for this season overall, and speaking with parent's, fuel prices are the #1 reason for the low numbers.

Canan was not going to let new riders walk over him today and was eager to show he earn's his points the old fashion way

Riders at the Koontz series benefit from television exposure. Here Tri State Productions films the youth riders prior to the start.

Track promotor Paul Koontz waved the green flag and they were off! Cody Hill and Brandon Boso each got a good start and it would be wheel to wheel to see who would grab the holeshot

The start featured a long incline that had everyone fighting to gain on everyone else. Hill stayed on the gas and lead the field to the first turn

Brandon Boso got inside Hill in the 3rd turn and assumed the lead. Boso got around Hill and was off!

Hill remained 15 seconds behind Boso on lap 1 and the pair was putting some serious distance between themselves and the remainder of the field.
