2001 400ex $2800-worth it?
Here's the deal. A buddy of mine is selling his 2001 400ex. It is red and has pretty low hours, as shortly after this quad was bought he bought a yellow 400ex and rode that one. To start, its in overall good condition. All it has is shock covers as far as mods(if you can even call those mods - aftermarket accessories I guess). It starts and runs just fine, no weird noises or anything like that. Now to the bad. The parking brake doesn't work. When you pull the lever it moves the cable in the back but doesn't engage. I don't know how big/expensive a problem like that is. Secondly, the front right tie rod is bent and the right front rim is bent as well. It is not bent enough to feel it on the trails, but on the road you can feel it. Lastly, the rear tires have about 25% life left. He wanted to get $3300 for it, but I offered him $2500. He said I could have it for $2800. Is it worth it seeing as it needs about $100(Prices that I looked up) worth of work? I am thinking I should just wait and keep looking seeing as he wants kind of a bit much? Thanks.
