2005 MAXXIS Thunder in the valley series.

The Thunder in the valley series title sponsor this year is Maxxis Tire. It’s a fast growing series out here in southern California . The series has picked some great sponsors including Alba , Galfer, Laegers, IMS, Triump Motorsports and many more.. Turnout for events averages around 75. They have classes for just about all levels and abilities. This first article will highlight some of the classes and different tracks this series travels to.

The series got off to a slow start after the first round was rained out. January was a very wet month out here in California. Round two was for double points to make up for round one. It was almost rained out also, but fortunately we got just enough rain to make conditions almost perfect. As you can see here it looked pretty bad, but after a little track time it cleared up nice.

Here as in all races is the mandatory riders meeting. With local series like this you get several new riders that may have never been on a track, so to make sure every knows the procedures these types of meetings are a must for safety reasons.

Here at the first round signups go smooth. This was the first round of the year after January’s was rained

Here is the gate for the c class at El Cajon. The series is run at two different tracks. There is a race run at each track each month.

El Cajon races are run under the lights. Yes night racing. It gives the riders a chance to try something a little different. Here is the Pro class lining up under the lights.

Here is the newest sponsor to join the series. Triumph Motorsports. They vend at every race. So whether you a full set of tires and wheels or just a quart of oil, they are there to help. They also help out some of the new riders with questions they might have.

Here is the start of the novice class at Race Town. This is another class that sees a large turnout.

Here you can see the track conditions during practice. After practice the track was much better.
