    airbox- greasing around

    The manuel and the honda shop told me to grease around the airbox assembly when i put the airfilter back onto the airboot... it is kinda confusing to now where to grease it so less dirt or water can get in... where do i grease it....? i will show you where i greased it and you can tell me if i did it right.... (stock airfilter)

    In the red circle like where the blue is...? is this right? and just go all around and make a complete circle with grease??

    That's where I grease it to but I always put a little on the other end to. Before I put the metal part back in the foam part I put grease on the little metal pin that sticks out of the form.

    I never grease it. In fact, I don't know anyone who does.

    Thats a new one to me, I do use never-seize on certain bolts that need to removed often though...

    i never did that with stock filters but with the k&n i grease it cuz it has the metal flange instead of a boot. but those are the right spots to grease it.

    You should be greasing the inside of the boot so the grease is between the airboot and the metal flange.

    joe, like grease where the green is on the diagram... right?
    Also, what is the best way to clean the boot from the airbox to the carb?

    I recommend not greasing that, the air filter could fall off.
